I feel I must point out re: your essay on
METAL PRIESTESS...it should be noted that the in-concert photo is NOT the original cover.
The original shot featured Wendy dressed in her black leather gear (the same she sported
for the performance of "Black Leather Monster" on SOLID GOLD) infront of an
inverted pentagram. Moreover, as crucial as I feel this record is (as well as some of
their others), I don't believe it to be as intentionally calculated a concept as your
essay suggests, which is to say, you may be reading too deeply into it. Still, it's just
my opinion. I'm sure we're still in agreement that it rolls right over 90% of anything
recorded in the eighteen years since its initial release |

"I miss Wendy; forget if I signed this
guestbook before. Wendy used to answer my fan mail!! I couldn't believe it--she even sent
me a christmas card once and I used to send her pics of our daughter when she was small. I
saw her in Colorado at a club when she went out on her own--"i love sex and rock n
roll."...I was thrilled meet her in person & wish I could've talked to her in
person. I hang a W.O.W. pin on our xmas tree each yr in her memory....& remember the
heat I took in college for playing her albums..(my suite mates were into real 'mellow'
music....Jonathon Edwards, Melanie..so u can imagine how they received Wendy!!! HAHA...But
I always saw something in her-thru her toughness...& I loved getting mail from her.
She once sent me an autographed vegetarian magazine w/her on the cover. And God -if there
is a God-bless Wendy because of her affinity for animals. I sure do miss her. |

Well, I was looking for the
VU, and I found this, and liked it although I am perhaps a little too ignorant about this
band in particular the essays and various things looked really good. Probably doesn't make
much sense all this but anyway. What do I like.. hm. The VU obviously, radiohead, sonic
youth, mogwai, sleater-kinney, various vaguely alternative/obscure things. And writing and
recording wierd songs. |
